RPM problems with my car?

I have a 96 dodge caravan. While I was driving earlier my car shuddered a bit then my rpms dropped down to 0 for a few seconds then picked back up. I had my transmission replaced a couple months ago. Could I need a new transmission again or is there something else wrong with my car.
